MY LIFE by HAROLD KNEELAND

FROM A MILKING STOOL TO THE WHITE HOUSE

THE EARLY DAYS

During the early morning hours of July 31,1932 in the Johnson Memorial Hospital, Stafford Springs, Connecticut, Harold Eugene Kneeland was born to Mary Alice Kneeland (nee Thompson) and Harold Dewey Kneeland. I understand I was slightly ahead of my time as my parents were married on April 5th of that year, but I was anxious to get started on what was to become a very full and exciting life of LOVE, CHALLENGES and ACHIEVEMENTS!

It was a GREAT day!! I was born a Leo and have spent my life striving to meet the expectations of those born under this astrological sign…compassionate, generous and a demonstrative leader. What a challenge! Notwithstanding, the consensus of views expressed by the visitors to my crib who assured me that I had all the arrogant traits necessary to become an outstanding Leo!

BRING ON THE WORLD!!  ME, MY DAD, HIS DAD, HIS DADS’ MOM

After a brief exposure to life on the “outside”, my mom and dad took me to our home in Storrs, Connecticut.   Little did I know then that in a few short years I would have to share my parents and my home with 4 siblings; 2 brothers and 2 sisters.

Bill was born on August 6, 1933, Jacky on August 7, 1935, Wayne on July 3, 1936, and Sherrell was born on August 24, 1939.
